Power flushing

Cold spots, a noisy boiler, radiators slow to warm up? A power flush clears the sludge and debris out of your heating system so it heats evenly and efficiently again.

Overview

What the work involves

Over time, rust and sludge build up inside radiators and pipework, blocking flow and making your boiler work harder. A power flush pushes cleaning chemicals through the whole system at high flow to shift the debris, then leaves it dosed with inhibitor to protect it.

It's often worth doing before a new boiler goes in (it protects the new appliance and is sometimes required to keep the warranty valid) and any time radiators have cold spots or need constant bleeding.

We'll tell you honestly whether a power flush will help, or whether the symptoms point to a different fix.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if I need a power flush?
Common signs are cold spots at the bottom of radiators, radiators that need frequent bleeding, noisy pipes or boiler, and slow warm-up. We can check the system before recommending one.
How long does a power flush take?
Usually about a day, depending on the size of the system and how much sludge has built up. We'll confirm before we start.
